Lloyds Banking Group

JOB TITLE: Content Designer
LOCATION: Leeds
SALARY: £59,850 - £66,500
HOURS: Full-Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in the Leeds office.

About the opportunity
Be the voice of the user at the heart of digital banking.

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're not just transforming our app-we're reshaping how millions of people access, manage, and feel about their money.

You might've noticed-we've had a bit of a makeover lately. A bold new look, a redesigned app, and a huge push towards modern, user-centred digital experiences. Now, we're looking for a thoughtful, detail-obsessed Content Designer to help us keep that momentum going.

As part of this mission, our Digital Access Lab-often called the Bank's "digital front door"-is looking for someone who can help shape essential journeys like log in, registration, and app setup, used by millions of people every single day. It's high-profile, high-impact work, where clarity, precision, and empathy truly matter.

And you won't be doing it alone. You'll join a thriving, supportive community of content designers across Lloyds Banking Group-people who care deeply about craft, share knowledge freely, and support one another to do their best work.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing user-centred content for critical journeys like log in, registration, and app onboarding

  • Owning the words across platforms to make every step feel seamless, secure, and human

  • Collaborating with designers, developers, researchers and product leads in a true multidisciplinary team

  • Championing user needs and inclusive design at every turn

  • Explaining your decisions clearly and confidently to stakeholders

  • Documenting content decisions, patterns, and guidelines to raise the bar for others

  • Pushing for clarity and simplicity-especially in complex or regulated content

  • Treating every comma, every label, every screen as if millions of people will see it-because they will

Who you are

  • A natural writer, obsessed with how language works in digital experiences

  • Someone who lives and breathes user-centred design-not just in theory, but in practice

  • A stickler for detail, with a sharp eye for edge cases, consistency, and accuracy

  • Reliable, pragmatic, and trustworthy-especially when the stakes are high

  • Resilient and flexible-you can stay focused and positive in the face of shifting priorities and fast-moving work

  • Experienced working in the financial sector or similarly regulated industries

  • A clear communicator who can explain the "why" behind your words

  • Confident working across journeys with big customer volumes and business visibility

  • Comfortable creating educational materials, content specs, and internal documentation

  • Excited to join a collaborative community of content professionals where you'll be supported, challenged, and celebrated

Why this role matters
You'll be shaping the first steps of the digital customer journey-how people register, log in, and feel confident managing their money online. It's the frontline of trust and usability. The stakes are high, but so is the opportunity to create positive impact at massive scale.

We believe in content as design. We're building a team of experts who advocate for users, shape accessible experiences, and sweat every detail-because that's what great digital services need.

About Working For Us
Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it's why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We're disability confident. So if you'd like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance-related bonus

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

If you're excited by the craft, driven by purpose, and ready to make a difference for millions-we'd love to hear from you.
