This is a strategically important hire for this insurer’s Direct business, and the role will give you much greater influence than a traditional underwriting role.

We are looking for a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter (PI & D&O), who would like to be more involved with wider underwriting strategy and account performance. It isn’t essential that you have previous experience within these wider business areas – more so, you will have strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in helping to shape how underwriting evolves within a modern direct insurance environment.

This role’s strategic goals will be focused around digital growth, improved trading capability, AI and automation opportunities, better portfolio management, faster decision-making, and enhanced customer experience.

Working in conjunction with specialist teams, you will help to influence underwriting decisions, portfolio performance, risk appetite and the application and product development. In addition, you’ll help the business achieve profitable growth, whilst maintaining strong underwriting discipline, customer outcomes and regulatory standards.

As well as being a technically-competent Financial Lines Underwriter, you will be dynamic, agile and comfortable working in a fast-changing environment. Just as importantly, you’ll be “digitally curious”, and able to balance governance with trading opportunity.
