Warehouse Assistant

• Annual Salary: £13.47 per hour (PAYE)
• Location: LS10, Leeds
• Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Leeds. This role is crucial in supporting our service during a site relocation. The ideal candidate will possess a UK driving licence and be prepared to work at multiple locations within Leeds as required.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Provide limited face-to-face and telephone support to service users, colleagues, and carers/relatives regarding routine information.
• Utilise computer information systems and paper forms to manage stock, track equipment, and document deliveries and collections.
• Perform basic assembly of equipment following manufacturer’s instructions.
• Conduct weekly stock checks, resolve stock and delivery issues, and order stock as necessary.
• Prepare and pick equipment for deliveries and in-store collections.
• Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse environment, ensuring equipment is stored correctly.
• Operate lifting machinery such as forklift trucks, adhering to safe driving procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Local Operational Procedures, maintaining safety and security of the building.
• Act as the nominated Fire Person when required, including weekly testing of fire alarms and responding to alarms, ensuring compliance with local procedures.
• Maintain accurate records for audit purposes and provide cover within an agreed area to maintain service provision.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for stock management.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and operate lifting machinery safely.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and ability to provide customer support.
• UK driving licence is highly desirable.
